TerraCrunch was founded on June 11, 2009, as a weblog dedicated to obsessively profiling and reviewing new Green products and companies. In addition to covering new companies, we profile existing companies that are making an impact (commercial and/or cultural) on the new Green space.
THE TerraCrunch TEAM
Waylon Lewis – Co-Founder, Editor-in-Chief
My grandpa worked for Esquire in its heyday. My grand uncle was Lerner, of Lerner & Loewe. My other grandma was personal secretary to Ginger Rogers, raising my mom in strict Christian Science Musical fashion in the City of Angels. My father, an editor and journalist and Republican and Buddhist. My mother, a founder of two schools and Shakespeare play director.
Myself, a Buddhist/eco/writer, founder of Elephant Journal, a grassroots magazine dedicated to ‘The Mindful Life’- living a good life that also happens to be good for others, and our world. As a college kid I worked for Shambhala International and Shambhala Publications, in Boston. Later, I fundraised and PR’d for Shambhala Mountain. Then, a bit of grad school, then I got hooked into publishing – the family karma whirlpooling me (happily) down the writerly drain.
Now Editor-in-Chief of TerraCrunch, dedicated to passionately profiling new green products and companies that are having a commercial and/or cultural impact in the green space, current host of the Walk the Talk Show, and have been featured on Planet Green TV (Green Hero), Treehugger (Changemaker), Huffington Post (Green Living columnist), Shambhala Sun (Prominent Buddhist) and Mother Nature Network (Top 10 Green Tweeters).
